On September 23, 2017, music fans had the opportunity to attend Maestro Eugen Doga’s concert with the participation of the symphonic orchestra and soloists of the Maria Bieshu National Opera and Ballet Theater, the Accord group, Vitalie Advakhov and others.
The concert took place at the estate of one of the most mysterious personages of the 19th century, a great diplomat and gifted merchant Manuc-Bei Mirvozyan. The estate includes a palace built in 1817 by architect Bernahdazzi. The palace has been recently restored and received the status of a museum complex, part of national heritage of Moldova.
Concert guests received Maestro’s famous pieces performed by the composer himself with affection: ‘Intermezzo’, ‘Eterna’, ‘Sonnett’ and romances set to poetry by Mihai Eminescu and Veronica Micle from the music cycle Dialogues of Love, along with his most famous songs, waltzes, including the renowned waltz from the film My Sweet and Tender Beast. They were performed by soloists Anna Chernikova, Ion Timofti, Dumitru Mytsu, Mariana Bulicanu, Inga Ursu, Vitalie Advakhov, Tania Cherga and other musicians accompanied by the symphonic orchestra of the National Opera and Ballet Theater of Moldova, conducted by DumitruKyrchumaru.
The lovely event gathered hundreds of spectators who greeted every performance with applause.
The concert was attended by Minister of Culture, Education and Research Monica Babuk and Khyncheshti local government Chair Gennadiy Guza.
The concert was held as part of Eugen Doga Year and is part of a series of events promoting Moldova’s cultural heritage supported by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research in partnership with theU.S. International Development Agency and government of Sweden.
