Impressive debut on the stage of the Romanian Athenaeum: 12 year-old David Dumitrescu, member of the "100 Youngsters for Romania's Development" campaign, opened the concert "In memoriam Eugen Doga". Dan Voiculescu Foundation for the Development of Romani

The evening of Dragobete marked a historic moment for one of the youngest and most talented exponents of Romanian culture nowadays. On the stage of the Romanian Athenaeum, in an atmosphere dominated by respect and emotion, the pianist David Dumitrescu, aged just 12, gave his first concert in this emblematic venue. The event, dedicated to the memory of the great composer Eugen Doga, was an act of reverence for a universal work and a confirmation of the strength of the new generation of musicians. David, a member of the national campaign "100 Youngsters for Romania's Development", succeeded in transforming his debut into a demonstration of artistic maturity that brought the audience standing on its feet.

The evening's program was conceived as a dialogue between generations, in which the freshness of David's interpretation was harmoniously blended with the experience of established artists such as soprano Iana Novac. The young pianist opened the concert with a precision and sensitivity that betrayed his intense training and his native talent already appreciated by great personalities of our culture. His interpretative maturity had previously been noted by maestro Florin Piersic, who saw David as an artist with a rare ability to communicate through the keyboard beyond the rigor of the score. Yesterday evening, every note flowed like a tribute to the genius of Eugen Doga, the composer whose work is part of UNESCO's treasury and whose music vibrated again through the fingers of a child who carries his legacy forward.

David Dumitrescu's presence on this prestigious stage is the result of a career marked by numerous distinctions at international competitions, but also of the constant support offered by the Dan Voiculescu Foundation for the Development of Romania. His inclusion in the elite catalog of the 100 young people who will change the face of the country was not just a recognition of past merits, but an investment in a future where excellence becomes the standard. Yesterday's event showed that a young artist can, through discipline and vocation, rise to the heights of a stage that has hosted, over the decades, the biggest names in world music.

For David Dumitrescu, the evening of February 24 will remain the date on which he officially stepped into the circle of great performers, and for the audience it was a lesson about continuity and hope. By supporting such moments, the Dan Voiculescu Foundation for the Development of Romania reconfirms that identifying and promoting early talent is the central pillar of long term cultural development.
