As part of today’s meeting, the Cabinet of Ministers confirmed the decision regarding celebrating Eugen Doga’s 80th birthday. According to this document, in 2017 a series of cultural events will be held to honor the Maestro and to promote his work.
Among the most important events are the anniversary concert, a photography exhibition, the staging of the “Lucheafarul” ballet and meet-the-artist events with the Maestro’s participation. At the same time, a few publications will be issued, such as a commemorative postal stamp “Eugen Doga’s 80th birthday”, and anniversary chamber concerts will be held at diplomatic missions of the Republic of Moldova abroad. In order to finance these events,1.5 million ley has been allocated from the government reserve fund.
Eugen Doga was born on March 1, 1937 in the village of Mokra, Rybnitsa. His music is highly appreciated in Moldova as well as abroad. Maestro demonstrated special talent in the field of music for film, having become one of the most famous cinema composters in the post-Soviet space.
For his outstanding achievements Eugen Doga has been awarded the State Prize; he is a holder of the Order of the Republic and has been awarded the ‘People’s Artist of the Republic’ title.
